I am happy to announce that I have opened a new Heel Pain Clinic in Windsor, offering diagnostic ultrasound scans and low dose radiotherapy for patients with Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendonitis.
I have personally suffered with plantar fasciitis on and off for a number of years, and thankfully I have managed to control it with a combination of resting, changing footwear, and exercises, so I do have some insight into the pain and distress that this condition causes. I have also had an interest in the use of radiotherapy for benign conditions for a number of years, so it made sense to turn my attention to providing radiotherapy treatment for these conditions.
Often people see their GP, who diagnoses the cause of the heel pain based on the history and examination alone. In many cases, the diagnosis may be accurate, but there is evidence to show that heel pain is not always what it seems. It makes sense to me to offer a scan to give a more definitive diagnosis, rather than an educated guess. I am trained in the use of diagnostic ultrasound scans and can provide an on-the-spot diagnosis of plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis.
For many people, a combination of stretching, resting and changing footwear will get rid of the pain. However, for those where the pain is still there, very low dose radiotherapy is effective at getting rid of the pain of plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis in about 80% of people, although some need a second course of treatment. It is also completely non-invasive and has minimal side-effects.
I am offering free initial consultations, including a free diagnostic ultrasound scan, at the new heel pain clinic in Windsor, and the chance to discuss whether low dose radiotherapy can heal your heel pain.
The clinic is held monthly at GenesisCare Windsor, 69 Alma Road, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 3ES. Please phone 01483 806018 to make an appointment.
